About

GINA ROSS
Professional Singer - Songwriter
I have been in the Entertainment Industry, in showbiz, all my working life. Performing throughout the world as a Professional Singer appearing in venues such as The Federal Palace Hotel in Nigeria, The Taj Hotel in Mumbai (Bombay), The Mandarin Hotel in Singapore, Hotel Indonesia in Indonesia, The Gaborone Sun in Botswana and an extensive tour of The Zimsun Hotel Group including the world-famous Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe.
Closer to home in the UK were major venues including, The Golden Carter & Talk of The North where I appeared alongside many household names including the brilliant Tommy Cooper and Bob Monkhouse Lulu to name a few. Also, Park Hall, Charnock Richard, and The Cresta, The Night Out, Heart of The Midlands and The Kings Club, all in Birmingham, as the supporting artist for stars/headliners like David Essex, Des O'Connor and Billy Connelly. So many other wonderful theatres and clubs, including singing at the world-famous Ronnie Scots.
Other amazing stars I have had the pleasure of sharing the same stages with were Percy Sledge (When A Man Loves A Woman) and the Queen of Rock & Roll, the legendary iconic Tina Turner, and having the dressing room next to her at The Wakefield Theatre Club in 1978 when I was just seventeen years old. I had the opportunity to be introduced to Tina Turner in her dressing room! I remember asking her if she had any advice for me as an aspiring artist, and she told me, “never ever give up”! What an absolutely lovely lady she was.
Then in 1993 came the opportunity for me to appear at the very prestigious Blackpool Opera House with an audience capacity of 3,000 each night of the week for six months. From 2005-2009 I joined up with two other female performers and did all the major theatre venues throughout the UK, performing songs from Diana Ross and The Supremes to The Three Degrees. I returned to a solo career in 2010 and appeared on various cruise ships.
From 2011 to the present day I have been concentrating on my songwriting and recording career. So, in 2011 I went to college to study Digital Music Programming and Music Theory. At the same time, I began to learn how to play the piano and successfully passed with distinctions for all of my ABRSM Music Theory exams; this gave me the tools to compose my own music to my own lyrics.
Then in 2024 after many years having written and recorded my own songs, I joined forces with multi-platinum award winning songwriter and producer Martin Sutton, who has written hit songs for the likes of Sir Cliff Richard, LeAnn Rimes, Mike and The Mechanics and many more. That collaboration has seen us release our latest of three hit songs ‘Go Easy’, ‘Wanderin Girl’ and ‘Sunglasses in the Rain’. As this goes to print, we are both together once again in the studio to record and release a further two tracks at the beginning of 2025.
